About
the artist: Claire Dunn
Claire
was born in Harrow on the outskirts of London in 1972.

She
moved to Witley in Surrey with her parents and then settled
in Hampshire where she completed her formal education. Claire
first studied art at Hampshires Basingstoke Technical
College and went on to gain a degree in fine art at
West Surrey College of Art and Design.
Claire is also deeply interested in photographic montage and
has previously exhibited her work at the Allen Gallery in
Hampshire. Her work is strongly related to themes of natural
beauty that is in abundance and found in the everyday mundane,
the intertwining of beauty caught up in the syncopation of
everyday life. Her floral depiction of this is demonstrated
in her work. The striking compositions crafted with marks
generated in charcoal and water colour would be considered
individual by most, but her work carries a tempo not unlike
music. These, her latest works are dedicated to the fact that
our whole genetic making runs in ever varying frequencies,
a dynamic dimensional rhythm that is demonstrated in every
aspect of nature down to the very smallest micro organisms.
It has the flow of music and a vibrancy of life.
